Happy cycling!

The Viewfinder Trail was originally installed in 2005 and initiated by Colchester based artist Michael Goodey. Michael was inspired by 20th Century landscape painter Lucien Pissarro's painting of a particular Colchester view across Hilly Fields and also by the town's distinctive skyline.

The full 17 ½ mile route comprises 10 meticulously painted signs, that initially give the appearance of typical road signs, all featuring 'Jumbo' water tower and the Town Hall as identifiable landmarks.

The full route is available to buy from Colchester Visitor Information Centre.
