Terry Flower has been commissioned by firstsite to make an artist's book unveiling the hidden fabric of Colchester. The publication WATCHING exhibits photographs of locations in the town that give a new visibility to its heritage.

"Whether ancient castle or modern shop, the buildings are watching developments through the eyes of their windows," he said. The University of Brighton senior lecturer added: "No place is mundane, each location has some magic to offer up to those with time enough to see or feel."

Watching follows his other recent works, Meadow River and Hope Gap.
