Thursday 4 September
Join us for two outstanding screen classics and a recently released and critically acclaimed film as part of our LGBT screenings.
Dir. Derek Jarman (1990) 92 mins Cert. 15
A nearly wordless visual narrative intercuts two main stories: A woman perhaps the Madonna, brings forth her baby to a crowd of intrusive paparazzi. Two men who are lovers marry and are arrested by the powers that be. The men are mocked, tarred, feathered, and beaten. Jarman assaults the senses with a film of endearing qualities and enduring imagery. This screening is to coincide with the 20th anniversary of Jarman's death.
