The Big Book is a brand new artist-designed resource for schools to use when they visit firstsite. It was created and designed by East-based artist Les Bicknell.

There are 11 little books within The Big Book all of which are beautifully crafted and offer an unusual, non-prescriptive way of looking at contemporary art and firstsite.

The books cover different themes including visual communication, visual perception, buildings and architecture, self expression, colour theory, ways of looking and abstraction. 

Teachers can click on the pdf below to download our Big Book Starting Points tools, which outline some questions to stimulate discussion or activity.
