Anthea Hamilton: Sorry I’m Late

Published on the occasion of Anthea Hamilton's solo exhibition at firstsite, Sorry I'm Late is the first monographic book on the work of the British artist. This new 96-page publication has been designed by Hamilton in close collaboration with Firstsite and Kellenberger–White. It features over fifty colour illustrations, and includes an extended interview between the artist and firstsite's Senior Curator, Michelle Cotton and a commissioned essay by Catherine Wood, Curator of Contemporary Art & Performance at Tate Modern.

Steven Claydon: Culpable Earth

Published on the occasion of Steven Claydon’s solo exhibition, Culpable Earth is a 136-page book on the work of the British artist. The publication has been designed by Claydon in close collaboration with Secondary Modern. It features 260 colour and 45 black-and-white illustrations that track the artist’s work and source material. These include photography of his exhibition at firstsite along with documentation of previous exhibitions. In addition to previously unpublished transcripts and texts by Claydon, it includes an extended interview between the artist and Martin Clark, Artistic Director at Tate St Ives.

Camulodunum

Camulodunum celebrated the opening of firstsite's new contemporary art space in Colchester. Taking its title from the town's original name when it was established as a Roman legionary fortress, the exhibition looked back to its rich heritage as the first city of Britain. The 88-page exhibition catalogue has been designed by A Practice of Everyday Life and features 58 colour and black-and-white illustrations. It includes new essays by art critic Louisa Buck. firstsite's Senior Curator, Michelle Cotton and Charlotte Higgins, chief arts writer of the Guardian.
