Moulin Rouge: Six of the Best

Thursday 31 July

Six of the Best from Bruce McLean

Six classic films chosen by current exhibiting artist Bruce McLean

7pm, Auditorium

This early version of Moulin Rouge gives an atmospheric portrayal of Toulouse-Lautrec (Jose Ferrer). Ferrer (who was a tall man), plays the part of Toulouse-Lautrec for which he has to walk on his bended knees, with his long coat covering the back of his legs!

'this seemed to me the most ridiculous bloody thing, and the whole film was about looking and trying to catch a shot of the shoes attached to his knees.' Bruce McLean
