Exhibition Changeover
While we prepare for our next exhibitions, our main galleries will be closed. During this time you will still be able to see the Jim Ede Collection in the University Space, visit Musa and the shop will be open.
On Saturday 25 May in the main galleries, Sophie von Hellermann: Elephant in the Room, and a small study of paintings, Edward Bawden: Essex Watercolours, will open.
Beginning Monday 27 May, the new summer opening hours will include Mondays, 10am - 5pm.
Jim Ede Collection
Monday 18 March - Sunday 9 June
In 1964, the curator Jim Ede donated a number of art works to the newly established University of Essex, including works by Alfred Wallis, Christopher Wood, Ben Nicholson and Henri Gaudier-Brzeska. For this exhibition we show a selection of artworks that illustrate the breadth of Jim Ede's collection, while a series of talks expand on themes raised.
Bank holiday opening hours
