Arts in Colchester
FETE is a collaborative two-year project bringing together the three Colchester arts organisations: Colchester Arts Centre, the Mercury Theatre and firstsite, under the banner of the Arts in Colchester.
Since its launch at Willow Brook Primary School's summer festival last year, FETE has been working with community groups and residents in the St Anne's are of Colchester to build relationships, discover talents and interests, and to explore visual and performing arts alongside artists and actors. The project will culmnte in a celebration of St Anne's and its people.
The Arts in Colchester Bus was at various locations during the summer of 2012 offering free cardboard model-making activities.
Around 200 residents, local councilors, community representatives from the Oak Tree Community Centre, Willow Brook Primary School, Street Warden Services and Colchester Borough Homes attended the celebration event on Saturday 18 May where the artworks were officially unveiled by the eldest and youngest members of the community present on the day.
