MORE than 50,000 people have visited firstsite since we opened our doors to the public on 25 September.

That’s a third of our projected visitor figure of 150,000 for the entire year.

Firstsite Director Kath Wood told local media:

‘We’ve been delighted with the response to our launch exhibition.

So many different sections of the local community have used the building for talks, creative courses, school visits, screenings, meetings and functions.

The first big event in our auditorium, a talk by renowned local historian Andrew Phillips, was sold out.’
