Women and children: What has made this building last?
The questioning of cultural, social and global responsibility is central to Rory Pilgrim’s practice.
Pilgrim explores the ways in which we profess what we believe, individually and collectively, investigating timeless forms of communal expression through music, language, text, craft, performance and ritual.
From the decision taken by a minister to allow a song about gay rights to be sung in church, or contextualising a discussion that cannot take place in another space, Pilgrim endeavours to challenge our personal and collective action, history and responsibility.
By examining closely historical and contemporary global events, Pilgrim scrutinizes the ‘glocal’, working with diverse groups and individuals from around the world.
