1.

Programme Manager – Exhibitions and Events, (Maternity Cover)
Salary: £29,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time; fixed term contract to cover maternity leave; minimum 9 months, July 17 – March 18

The opportunity of Programme Manager – Exhibition and Events, is a 9 month contract to cover maternity leave. The role is responsible for the delivery of Firstsite’s artistic programme of exhibitions, projects, screenings and events. Supporting the Head of Programme in conceiving and hands-on delivery of a very busy, culturally diverse, accessible and audience-led programme. It demands someone who with energy and the commitment to make a programme of artistic activity that is organised and realised to very high standards, and is as equally motivated to achieve targets on financial sustainability and increases in audience attendance. You will be a natural communicator and team player, able to work closely with colleagues across all operations at Firstsite, to ensure the effective planning and delivery of the programme.

Programme Assistant
Salary: £19,500 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 1 year fixed term contract to June 2018

The role of Programme Assistant is offered as a one-year-long contract to a person starting a career in organising arts projects to gain valuable experience working in the visual arts. This is a very busy and rewarding role assisting the entire Programme team, providing support in organising, publicising and delivering Firstsite’s artistic, learning and education, auditorium and events programmes.  Duties range from assisting the Head of Programme and Programme Managers in research, planning, correspondence and administration, to assisting with events, including liaison with artists, speakers and organisers. The role requires someone with energy and enthusiasm who enjoys undertaking a range of administrative and task-based jobs to ensure things are organised to the quality and demands required.

Front of House and Bar Assistant
Salary: Between £7.05 – £7.50 per hour dependant on age and experience
Hours: Shift work mainly evenings and weekends on a rota basis
Deadline for applications: 30 May 2017, 12 noon

The role of Front of House and Bar Assistant will work within the Hospitality and Bar team to ensure the successful delivery of all aspects of Front of House and Bar operations for every event at Firstsite. Duties include:

– Delivering exceptional service and develop strategies to encourage returning and new customers.

– Delivering friendly, personalised attention towards each customer, welcome and explain the menu
to determine the customer’s food and beverage interests and needs.

– Undertaking the preparation and serving of food and beverages served in the Bar and events by
following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques including allergens.

– Offer all Bar customers equal access and opportunity in receiving a high standard of service.

– Maintain inventories ensuring all stock is replenished regularly. Operate EPOS till, balance
accurately on a daily basis.

– Ensure all tables, surfaces and equipment are kept clean and operational.

– Encourage add on sales.

– Meeting daily financial targets as set by Hospitality Manager.

– Ensure that all customers are met and greeted in a polite and welcoming manner.

– Have good knowledge of Firstsite as a venue and the ethos of the organisation and translate to
visitors.

– Be adaptable to fulfill all tasks and roles you may be assigned to the highest standards.

The role will report to the Hospitality Manager, liaising closely with events coordinator, colleagues and the duty management team in ensuring the customers expectations are met.

Previous Bar experience and a Food Hygiene certificate preferred though not essential.

Experience of working within a similar environment would be desirable.
