Iles has immersed herself in a range of ‘assemblage’ projects in very different contexts: industrial sites, residential areas, schools, galleries and private gardens. For this project she creates assemblages outside the gallery around Colchester, from found objects that reflect human activities in a particular location. Brought back to the gallery, the objects’ meanings will be transformed as they are arranged in the form of a market stall.
