MA Contemporary Art and Professional Practice

firstsite and Colchester Institute School of Art & design, validated by the University of Essex are delivering a brand new postgraduate programme from July 2008. 

The MA Contemporary Art and Professional Practice is a 2-year part time course devised for Art and Design teachers and artist educators to re-awaken their creative practice.  The MA forms part of the national Artist Teacher Scheme whose central belief is to provide opportunities for artist teachers to develop their creative practice as this has shown to have a positive impact on their work in education.

The MA will begin with a 3-day Summer School Re-thinking our Practice, 28 – 30 July 2008.  Students on the course will work with professional artists to re-engage with their specialist practice.
