ArC 2007

Art reflecting Citizenship

2007 was the second year of this three year project.  Working with the 15 primary schools of the Colchester Consortium ArC explored how art can inspire, reflect and embed a deeper understanding of citizenship.  The selected artists embarked on a 10 day residency in their paired school.  This inspired students to engage with citizenship using the creative practices which each artist brought to their classroom.

ArC is a 3 year project initiated by CSN Consultancy, Colchester Consortium and firstsite, funded by Arts Council East and it seeks to explore:

How can the arts contribute to developing awareness of the community for primary school children through creative practice?
