The Knot Curtain
Launching The Knot Curtain, part of Colchester Inn, a project by public works
Launch event:
Saturday 27 February 2010
4 - 6pm
All welcome, just come along!
How do you welcome others?
What do you do to make someone join in?
Which traditions & customs do you know that have to do with hosting?
The Knot Curtain is the result of a collaboration between members of the Colchester Chinese Cultural Society and Andreas Lang and Kathrin Böhm from public works.
It is the first component in the Colchester Inn project, which explores different forms of hosting and welcoming in Colchester. public works will be working with different communities and groups from Colchester to look at the ways they host others. Together they will produce objects developed around their specific customs of welcoming.
On completion Colchester Inn will exist as a new meeting and hosting space for the public.
Contributions from all groups will feed into the making of the "Colchester Inn", a new public meeting space for Colchester, which everyone will be able to use.
Come along to firstsite and see The Knot Curtain, on display until 27 March.
